Maryport-Cockermouth-ICC

North Cumbria has been divided into eight Integrated Care Communities based on clusters of GP practices and their registered populations. By understanding the challenges that each area faces it is hoped that the community can work together with health and care organisations to improve the health and wellbeing of local people.

Work is progressing with the Maryport Alliance to develop alternative plans for the community hospital and how local care is delivered. Community groups are working together to address issues such as social isolation and end of life care and a Dementia Alliance is in the first stages of development to help people living with dementia in the area. Teams from different organisations are working closer together to ensure patient care is more joined up.
