NHS North Cumbria Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) is responsible for commissioning the majority of healthcare services in North Cumbria. The CCG is looking for a Lay Member who will champion patient and public engagement on its Governing Body. You will ensure the patient and public views are heard and will 
build and maintain effective relationships with local Healthwatch and Third Sector organisations.

In addition, as a member of the Governing Body, you will ensure that the CCG exercises its functions effectively, efficiently, economically, with good governance & in accordance with the terms of the CCG constitution.

You will have an understanding of the local arrangements for listening and responding to the voices of patients, carers and the community. You will live in the local community, have previous experience of working at board level and a track record in securing or supporting improvements for patients or the wider public. You will be competent in chairing meetings.

This role will have a time commitment of up to 4 days per month. Remuneration is currently under review and will be determined by the Governing Body.
