New role outside Cumbria for Eden GP Lead

Posted on Monday 12th March 2012

Dr Cameron Munro, who has been the Commissioning Lead GP in Eden for the past three years is leaving Cumbria to take up a partnership in Dundee.

The Appleby GP will be leaving on April 26 to return to his native Scotland, where he graduated from Edinburgh in 1992

Alongside his role as a GP and senior partner at Appleby Medical Practice, Dr Munro has led the development of health services in Eden since GPs first began to take over the commissioning role, and his leadership has been a valuable asset to the Eden Locality andCumbria Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG).

The process to elect a replacement executive GP for Eden will be taken forward by the LMC and then the five Eden executive GPs will select a leader to replace Cameron's current position at CCG level.

Dr Munro said: “It has been a very enjoyable time for me working in Eden, and my involvement in the Eden Locality incredibly interesting. I have been planning to return to Scotland for some time.”
