The public are invited to take part in a live webchat with healthcare professionals from NHS Cumbria Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), the main commissioner of health services in Cumbria.

The online chat on Tuesday 9 July will mark the first 100 days of NHS Cumbria CCG, established on 1 April 2013. It will be an opportunity for people to ask questions to four clinicians involved in the transformation from a managerial-led NHS to a clinical-led NHS in Cumbria.

Dr Hugh Reeve, GP and Clinical Chair of NHS Cumbria CCG, said: ““I’m a great believer in public involvement and engagement. As a CCG we are going to be work differently because we are a membership organisation and our priority is to make sure services across Cumbria are patient focused.”

Dr Reeve will be taking part in the webchat alongside Dr Rachel Preston, Lead GP for Eden, Dr David Rogers, Lead GP for Copeland and Laura Carr, Lead Nurse for Quality & Safety.

All four continue to work in a clinical role alongside their work for the CCG. Dr David Rogers believes that this patient contact puts them in the ideal position to commission the right health services to ensure quality of care for patients.

The webchat will take place on Tuesday 9 July from 12-1pm, to join in go to www.cumbriaccg.nhs.uk/get-involved/100-days .

People who are unable to join in from 12-1 can email questions to engagement@cumbriaccg.nhs.uk| ahead of the webchat. The complete webchat will be posted online afterwards.
