Accessing GP services over the Bank Holiday weekend

Posted on Friday 17th May 2013

Doctors are reminding patients that GP surgeries will be closed on Bank Holiday Monday, May 27.

During this time Cumbria Health on Call (CHoC)will provide out of hours GPs cover from clinic locations across the county.

This is urgent cover as provided in the evenings and weekends normally, therefore people are asked to be sensible and only contact CHoC if they have an urgent problem which cannot wait until their GP surgery reopens.

Patients should contact Cumbria Health on Call by dialing 03000 247 247 before attending one of their clinic locations.

Cumbria Health on Call, are not able to issue repeat prescriptions, so patients who may require a repeat prescription over the bank holidays or weekends need to organise this in advance.

For emergency dental treatment and advice call: 01228 603900 (North Cumbria), or 01539 716822 (South Cumbria).
