Come and discuss health and care services in Furness

Posted on Wednesday 20th January 2016

The next Furness Listening Event takes place on Monday 25 January from 12 noon, at the Forum, Barrow-in-Furness, and members of the community are welcome to come along and have their say.

Discussions will focus on understanding how important effective patient engagement is to ensuring the delivery of high quality services for our community.

Previously we have spent time talking to third sector organisations to improve relationships and communication between local charities and the NHS. While these groups support our NHS with their services, they are often better at engaging with the community than the NHS, so we want to learn lessons from each other and build on these relationships.

Dr Arabella Onslow, Deputy Lead GP for NHS Cumbria Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) Furness, says: “Engaging patients in the services they use is really important to making sure we design future services well. I would like to thank people in Furness for the enthusiasm and commitment they have shown by supporting the Listening Events, and hope to see them at the event on Monday.”

Come along and share your thoughts and views, and hear ideas from other people about how future services can be shaped.
