Residents invited to join the Kendal Integrated Care Community

Posted on Tuesday 19th April 2016

Local people are invited to attend the second ‘Kendal Integrated Care Community’ public event, which is being held at Kendal Town Hall on Wednesday 4 May.

All members of the Kendal community – defined as being registered with a Kendal GP Practice, together with charities, local councillors and other people interested are being invited to attend the event between 6pm and 8pm

Dr Richard Russell, the GP from Kendal who is leading this initiative, said: “I’m thrilled at the success of our first meeting, I honestly wasn’t sure if we’d get 5 people or 50! Thankfully it ended up being standing room only, so this time we’ve booked a bigger venue at the Town Hall.

“Those people who attended the first meeting will have heard the inspirational story of the Millom Alliance and I think that Kendal is ready for a similar partnership between local people and health and care services.”

“The first meeting, held in March, was a resounding success and we want to build on that enthusiasm. At this meeting we will discuss and feedback on the first public event; hear from people who were not able to attend the first meeting; and begin working together across Kendal.

“Local Councillors and representatives from third sector organisations have been invited to help us take the next steps.”
