A reminder - Stroke Services Implementation Workshop - Tuesday 19 June, 2pm - 4pm, at Cleator Moor Civic Hall

Posted on Friday 15th June 2018

The clinicians and commissioners involved in work to improve stroke services in North Cumbria are holding a workshop to explore how the services will be implemented.

The workshop is open to everyone and will take place on Tuesday 19 June from 2pm to 4pm at Cleator Moor Civic Hall, Jacktrees Road, Cleator Moor CA25 5AU.

The work follows on from the decision made following public consultation in March 2017, to develop a Hyper Acute Stroke Unit at the Cumberland Infirmary in Carlisle for patients across North Cumbria to be seen by a specialist team in a dedicated unit, in line with best practice.

At the event, Dr Paul Davies, Consultant Stroke Physician at North Cumbria University Hospitals NHS Trust, will provide an update on progress to develop the Hyper-Acute Stroke Unit. There will then be the chance to discuss concerns, ideas and suggestions as the work moves forward.

We recently published a public briefing to reiterate the reasons behind the decision and this is available online at:
